These words of exhortation spoken by the Apostle: "bring something because your life is better than somebody else's" is popularly associated with this day. Things like food, clothing, shoes, personal and school supplies are brought for the needy.

I know that the Lord will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and the right of the poor."

Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone."

Apostle (Mrs.) Eunice Gordon initiated and inaugurated the compassion/helps aspect of the vision of the Ministry by joining 10 members from SLBC & GHPM Toronto Family, Canada on their first compassion helps outreach to the Followers Mission shelter in downtown Toronto on Friday 28th August, 2009. The team presented the offering of CD$ 245 and boxes of non-perishable food items to include bags of rice and oil. These food items were distributed by the Followers Mission staff to the needy visitors who had dropped by to join in their Friday Healing Service.
We were given a tour of the facility by the Director Pastor Young Wha Kang and she explained the history of the mission where she took over the old tattoo shop 17years ago and with time converted it in to a small sanctuary where they meet for services, a room for Bible study with a television which shows Christian films, a kitchen where they prepare food to give the people who come in off the streets, especially the Sunday lunch which is served after service.Clothing is also available for released inmates and others in need.
Pastor Kang went on to tell us that the Mission is totally reliant on support and funds from individuals and organizations and she noted one specific assistance from a local bakery. She also explained to us their programs and outreaches and most importantly their times of prayer, fasting and intercession for the nations.Africa had been their focus in prayers, even though this is the only continent Pastor Kang is yet to visit. So Pastor Kang gave us all a warm welcome and rejoiced to meet the members from Nigeria.
We joined in their praise and worship session and then Minister Sandra Julien introduced our visit to the shelter, Minister Jahdai Jones and Apostle (Mrs.) Eunice Gordon. The General Overseer addressed the congregation and explained further our Ministry's compassion/helps outreach and how we would like to be involved in their Mission on a regular basis and disciple the people who come to the shelter so they can become grounded in the word of God.Apostle pledged to support the Mission where necessary and prayed that a fruitful relationship would be born out of this visit.
