WATCHES & VIGILS (24 hours Praying Round the Clock)

The Watches and Vigils Intercessory program is a vision which God gave to Apostle (Mrs.) Eunice Gordon, President of Godhead Prayer Ministry.  This daily program for individual prayer warriors is a twenty-four hour prayer-chain program covering an average of 720 hours of intercessory prayers in a month.  The program is divided into two sessions, "watches and vigils". The watches hours are between 6:00am and 6:00pm while the vigils hours are between 6:00pm and 6:00am.

It is purely an intercessory scheme, which enlists faithful members to stand in the gap and intercede for saints, salvation of souls and for nations. This is indeed a global praying community whose members over the past years have continued to testify not only to the manifestations of their supplications but also to the tremendous spiritual growth that it has resulted in their own personal lives.

Operation of Watches and Vigils:

Intercessors assignment is compulsory for all faithful members of the ministry.  To be a consistent intercessor you are required to pray for a minimum of 1 hour daily.  We must note here however, that this one-hour does not have to be at a stretch, participants have the liberty to split the session into shorter commitment times within the watches and vigils hours if so led by the Holy Spirit.  One could intercede for periods of 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 minutes in one's privacy throughout the 24-hour period as long as the cumulative time of 1 hour daily is achieved. As you grow spiritually, you will be empowered to pray for a set 1-hour period at a stretch.

Objective:

It is expected that in every chapter of the Godhead Prayer Ministry, the twenty-four hours of the day be completely covered as the spiritual prayer baton is systematically passed from one to another hourly.
