Good Shepherd Day Of Compassion
The Good Shepherd Day of Compassion is a monthly outreach program designed by God to remember the needy, lonely, widows, depressed, fearful, hungry, abandoned and aged in our midst and the society.
1 John 3:17-18 "
But whoso hath this world?s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?
18 ...
let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth."
These words of exhortation spoken by the Apostle: "bring something because your life is better than somebody else?s" is popularly associated with this day. Things like food, clothing, shoes, personal and school supplies are brought for the needy.
Psalm 140: 12 "
I know that the Lord will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and the right of the poor."
The word of God is preached during the compassion program and people are invited to give their lives to Christ and accept Him as their Lord and Saviour. The perishable gifts given last but a short while, but the gift of salvation is eternal. People are prayed for healing, deliverance, counselled and invited to join the nearby Godhead Prayer Ministry fellowship where they will continue to hear and apply the word of God for total victory.
