NATIONS PRAYER WATCH
This programme was implemented globally after the 2007 Intercession Convocation held in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory, Nigeria. The theme of this Convocation was watching over the land in prayers2 Chronicles 7: 14If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Prior to this Convocation members of the Ministry Worldwide participated in an Esther project (21 days fast each month). Read Apostle (Mrs.) Eunice Gordon- The Intercessor for Nigeria for further details on the Esther project.
During the Intercession Convocation the GHPM cried out for the nation of Nigeria at a time when elections were imminent and a change of government hopeful. Other member delegates in attendance also interceded for their nations, especially U.K and Ireland who were in spiritual preparation for their NationsClarion Call held in May 2007.
Today this faithful assignment has given birth to Nations Prayer Watch:
In the United States of America it is tagged Esther Project, and was on all throughout the last pre-election programme.
In Canada we have put in motion a ?Nations Prayer Watch? in preparation for their Nations Clarion Call to be held in Toronto on August 13-15th, 2009.
It has continued in Nigeria with the Ministry members in Headquarters- Benin City, the Federal Capital Territory- Abuja and Lagos meeting for a night vigil the third Friday of every month to uphold the nation of Nigeria in fervent and concerted prayers.

At the end of the 2004 Restoration Convocation, God spoke to this great woman of God about His readiness to revive, restore and heal our nation Nigeria. As expected the woman of God became restive, recognising that of a truth, faithful had failed to affect the nation and society positively. It was a case of the salt having lost its savour. She believed and said it loud and clear that corruption would have been had believers continued to live a spirit filled life. She saw that because the light of the believer had shone dimly, darkness encroached upon the nation. She spoke against the silence of believers and the presentation of a fragmented picture of Christ to the world. She accepted on behalf of inactive faithful our powerlessness, prayerlessness, unbelief, envy, pride, unforgiving spirit, idolatry, enmity, strife, selfishness, divisions and infidelity.
To stem these, a number of programs were initiated and installed in the body of Christ of the Godhead Prayer Ministry. A program of interceding for Nigeria came on stream as early as April 2004. Every day, faithfuls were to pray for 15, 30, 45, and 60 minutes as led for 21 days monthly. At the end of each month, a corporate prayer to seal the 21 days for all those who faithfully completed the assignment was organised at all levels of meetings in the Ministry.
By April 2005, the ?Esther Project? was inaugurated and a list of faithful who obeyed weekly in prayers was collated for records. There was a corporate hourly intercession for Nigeria on a particular day of the week every month from 10am to 5pm. Faithfuls chose a specific hour that suited their schedule. Prayers were also conducted at family fortnightly vigil levels. The Gideon Army Prayer Tower, church and fellowship intercessory prayer sessions were all additional earnest prayer sessions to focus on Nigeria. Several programs of fasting and prayers were also conducted. The Apostle also sent out several circulars and teachings over the three year period stating the need to keep the fire of prayers alive concerning families and the nation of Nigeria. These teachings focused on the providential instruction of God as seen in 2 Chronicles 7:14. The Apostle identified some criteria which men, women, leaders and Nigeria must possess to receive revival, restoration and healing. When these conditions are met, she counselled God?s three fold promises of Revival, Restoration and Healing will be fulfilled.
A prototype prayer program was designed by the Apostle to include the following:
-
Confession of sins against corruption, cultism, lack of progress/retrogression, idolatry, false religion, works of darkness, spiritual wickedness in high places.
-
Praying for mercy and compassion for Nigeria.
-
Praying for mercy and compassion for Nigeria.
-
Asking God to deliver Nigeria from wickedness to her citizens (oppression and selfishness).
-
Asking for deliverance from poverty, moral and financial barrenness.
-
Praying against moral decay (our people are involved in immorality at its peak from the elderly to the children?s generation. There is spiritual apathy/hatred for one another because of spiritual differences.
-
Praying against worldly compromise everywhere, both in government and religious set ups which has led to drought (hardships), barrenness (poverty) and pestilence and affliction (sickness and diseases).
-
Praying for restoration of our spiritual life which has long died.
-
Praying for the Head of State and all leaders at all levels for God?s direction and focus.
-
Praying for God?s will and purpose for Nigeria to be purely established from now on.
-
Praying for God to take over Nigeria completely, that is, spiritually, morally, economically, financially and politically as preparation for 2007 gears up.
-
Thank God for a new God ordained Nigeria.
These guidelines were followed fervently, day to day and month to month, during the three year period 2004-2007 up until Intercession Convocation.
